Personal Information Protection

The Personal Information Protection Team at HMP Law provides clients with advice on privacy or data protection issues, including the implementation of personal information management policies and other personal data compliance programs, methods to reduce legal risks and responses to any breach or misuse of personal information as required by the Personal Information Protection Act and other personal information protection-related laws and regulations. In addition, the Personal Information Protection Team advises on personal information protection, privacy, and data security issues relating to various breakthrough technologies such as the 4th Industrial Revolution, such as big data, internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), 3D printing, drones, FinTech, electric cars, and driverless cars

◆ Advice on corporate compliance programs to make sure that the Personal Information Protection Act and other personal information protection-related laws and regulations are fully complied with
◆ Conduct of due diligence to check status of compliance with personal information protection-related laws and regulations
◆ Advice on implementation of personal information protection-related compliance policies and programs
◆ Training of directors, executives and employees in the requirements of the personal information protection-related laws and regulations, amendments to the relevant laws and regulations, and methods to minimize legal risks

◆ Advice on internal responses and procedures in the event of accidents relating to personal information
◆ Representation in civil, criminal, or administrative disputes relating to misuse of personal information before courts or arbitrators
